Operates Fabrication Shop and Machine Shop machinery and equipment to successfully complete the fabrication of steel rails, etc. Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Works well with others in a team environment. Proficient in assigned welding techniques, mig, tig, stick Interprets mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology. Tends fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punch, that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures used in the completion of the Fabrication of complex handrails, fences, driveway gates, descending curved rails in both Aluminum and Steel.
The Installer will lead or be a team member of a field crew in installations of iron railings and fences. Coordinate with the Production Supervisor on a daily basis to schedule installations. Perform tasks involving physical labor in the installation of iron railing and fence projects. Operate a variety of hand and power tools. Material handling and storage. Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials. Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Solves problems that may arise in the field. Ability to make decisions regarding unexpected alterations. Cut and welds steel to construct products in the field, using oxyacetylene cutting and welding equipment. Proficient in assigned welding techniques. Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology. Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials.
