Generally in Maryland, if your pool is more than two feet deep, you must have a fence around it. In some counties like Montgomery County, pools more than 18 inches deep must have a fence. The height of the fence varies in different counties. Montgomery County regulation compliant fences must be at least five feet tall while in Prince George’s County it is 6 feet. In most of Maryland, your fence will need to be at least four feet tall. These fences must be permanently anchored into the ground and cannot be easily climbed.
